Does just what I needed – Uploaded some files (PDFs and Word documents) from my PC to my GoAruna account, and downloaded them with this app to my iTouch. Now I can access these files anywhere, even without internet connection, exactly what I was looking for.

I can’t believe this app is FREE – Anyone that knows how an FTP site works should have no problem with this app. It’s better and faster then YouSendit.com All I can say is take the time to work with it on your computer then see all the things you can do with it on your iPad. GREAT program!

Our web team has been hard at work lately improving the GoAruna web client.

We have started with the main files list view and icon view pages. These pages are where most people spend time browsing, searching or performing actions on files, documents and media. We want these two screens to be very convenient and useful.

- New minimal layout and design that minimizes clutter
- New easier to use user interface for “file list view” and “file icon view” pages
- Muted icons and theme so you can focus on your important file, not flashy icons
- Multiple select with ease using drag-to-select (with your mouse), or use ctrl/cmd to select multiple items, just like on your desktop
- Getting sharing links is easier now
- Direct download of files. You should be able quickly download your own files from your account without a download page. Now you can.

We have more changes for the GoAruna web interface in the works already, we will post here as soon as we have more news.

Last week we released new and improved versions of GoAruna Desktop for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

Many of the functions and code throughout has be re-written and optimized.  The result being that general usability and performance has been greatly improved.

Here are some of the more important changes in version 0.1.5:

• - Drag and drop from OS.  You can now drag files from your OS file browser and drop them on the GoAruna Desktop app to upload directly to your GoAruna Online storage
• - Column size is now remembered so next time you start GoAruna Desktop, it will look the same as when you left last time.
• - Added a send button to shared files to easily share files that are in your Online Storage
• - Improved calculations for estimated remaining time for uploads and downloads
• - Improved performance for file uploads and downloads
• - Improved feedback for upload and download progress and status
• - Login authentication improvements
• - Improved “check for updates” function
• - Installation instructions for Linux version
• - Other bug fixes

It is recommended for all users to upgrade to this new version.  GoAruna Desktop v0.1.5 is available already on our desktop download page.

A much needed and requested feature has been to allow uploading multiple files to your account in the web version of GoAruna.  We are pleased to let you know that today our multiple file uploader went live on the GoAruna web interface.  Now you can upload up to 10 files at a time to your GoAruna account using only your browser.

Note that the new multiple file uploader requires flash to work.  If you have flash turned off or your browser doesn’t support flash, there is a link for you to use the original non-flash web file uploader.

Also remember that with the native GoAruna Desktop applications available for PC, Mac and Linux, you can upload even more files and folders as well.

You also may have noticed some small improvements around the web version of GoAruna.  Our web developers have been hard at work on improving many things around the site lately.  Some of these changes have been on the front end which are noticable but many changes are also going on behind the scenes in the code and server side to make everything run more smoothly and get ready for our next phase of bigger improvements.

Today we released an updated GoAruna Desktop version for PC and Mac.  With this release:

- You should see faster uploading performance uploading from the desktop client
– The Mac client is more responsive
– Improvements in the uploading progress bar reporting / display

This is a recommended upgrade for all Mac and PC GoAruna Desktop users.

We recently launched a feature to our home page for you to quickly send files in other languages.

In the past, if you wanted to send a file to someone in France (for example), you could do it but the email notification they got was in English.  Now we change that, now you can choose the language that the notification email is sent in.  For our example above, the file is being sent to someone in France that you know doesn’t speak English, so you just select French and they will be notified in their native French language, that you sent them a file.

Just goto GoAruna.com, fill the form to send a file as usual and change the language here. The email your recipient gets will be in the language you chose.

We recently released a new version of our Windows desktop file manager app and several users were reporting installation problems.

Today we have released a new version 0.1.2 which should resolve these installation issues.

This release is recommended to all users of our GoAruna for Windows desktop app.

If anyone is still having problems installing this version, please let us know in our desktop app feedback forum.

We have just recently released upgrades for our desktop applications, both Windows and Mac OS X versions.

The changes for this release are as follows:

• - Show file detail and sharing options drawer by default.  To make it easier to share files the info drawer on the side is always expanded.  You can close it at anytime you wish if you don’t want it always open.
• - Right Click a file and a new share or unshare option is now in the contextual menu in your online stored files
• - Added a copy button to more easily copy links for sharing files with others
• - Added Send File option to contextual menu for local files for sending files on your computer easier
• - Check for updates function added that will check for new versions of GoAruna Desktop
• - Allow select all, copy, cut and paste keyboard shortcuts on both Windows and Mac OS X versions
• - Bug fix. Remote file was being auto-renamed after a new folder was created and then clicking refresh
• - Bug fix.  Sometimes select or send file action was not working
• - Upgraded UI libraries to improve several actions within the app
• - Several other small bug fixes
• - Other usability improvements

This is a recommended upgrade for everyone using the Windows or Mac desktop GoAruna applications.

Over the last few days some users may have experienced trouble to connect to GoAruna web sites and services, uploading and downloading files and general slowness.

The good news is that GoAruna is growing but this means we are also getting increased traffic and requests to our servers.

We are testing some solutions currently and hope to have these problems resolved in the next couple of days.

In the meantime, please be advised that our service IS still up and running but you may experience slowness and / or delays connecting.
