We recently launched a feature to our home page for you to quickly send files in other languages.

In the past, if you wanted to send a file to someone in France (for example), you could do it but the email notification they got was in English.  Now we change that, now you can choose the language that the notification email is sent in.  For our example above, the file is being sent to someone in France that you know doesn’t speak English, so you just select French and they will be notified in their native French language, that you sent them a file.

Send large files in the language of your choice

Just goto GoAruna.com, fill the form to send a file as usual and change the language here. The email your recipient gets will be in the language you chose.

The languages for the new file sending in local languages are:

We are also working to translate the whole GoAruna web interface into many languages for you.  We will post more on this larger translation effort as soon as news is available.  In the meantime…

Happy file sending in 14 languages!

We have just recently released upgrades for our desktop applications, both Windows and Mac OS X versions.

The changes for this release are as follows:

• - Show file detail and sharing options drawer by default.  To make it easier to share files the info drawer on the side is always expanded.  You can close it at anytime you wish if you don’t want it always open.
• - Right Click a file and a new share or unshare option is now in the contextual menu in your online stored files
• - Added a copy button to more easily copy links for sharing files with others
• - Added Send File option to contextual menu for local files for sending files on your computer easier
• - Check for updates function added that will check for new versions of GoAruna Desktop
• - Allow select all, copy, cut and paste keyboard shortcuts on both Windows and Mac OS X versions
• - Bug fix. Remote file was being auto-renamed after a new folder was created and then clicking refresh
• - Bug fix.  Sometimes select or send file action was not working
• - Upgraded UI libraries to improve several actions within the app
• - Several other small bug fixes
• - Other usability improvements

This is a recommended upgrade for everyone using the Windows or Mac desktop GoAruna applications.

Today we have released GoAruna Files for Android v0.5.27 into the Android Marketplace.  This release has the following changes:

1. Inside select multiple files dialogue back button now goes back one level instead of back to normal file listing
2. Add download and share functions to files in the inbox
3. Bug fix. Share folder by SMS was sometime showing an error page
4. Improve logic of crash log reports

6. Make it easier to copy user’s Inbox URL and all shared file URLs
7. Base64 encoding improvement

We have made several improvements to the user interface to make it more functional for long file names and long lists.  During the process GoAruna files for Android is a lot better looking!   Here is a screenshot of the new UI.

We have updated the Aruna Send Yahoo Widget. The changes are as follows:

- Added ability so send a message to the recipient

- Added French, Swedish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese localizations

- Extended the file drag and drop area

- Fixed UTF-8 encoding bug

- Improved memory usage

If you already have the Aruna Send Yahoo Widget, you should be asked to update when you check for updates.

If you are not familiar with the Aruna Send Widget, it is a super convenient way to send files. It sits on your desktop (both Mac and Win) in the background and whenever you want to send a file, just drag and drop it on the widget, enter an email address you want to send to and click send.

Aruna Send Widget is totally free and there is no signup required. Just send files for FREE! You can get the Aruna Yahoo Widget from here.

Once logged into your Aruna email or Zimbra mail, you can find the Aruna Send Zimlet on the left hand side of your screen under “Zimlets” section

Click on Aruna Send to open the dialogue window.

Enter the email address of the recipient, enter your email address and then click “browse” to find the file that you want to send (100MB max currently).

When you are finished click Send.

You will then see the progress meter for your file upload.

When it is finished you will be given a link to your file. You can copy and paste this link anywhere and have access to your file.

Your recipient will also be sent an email with the link. We are currently in public beta and they will have 7 days to collect the file. After 7 days it will be automatically deleted from the server.

If you want to send another file, just click “Send Another”

Of course you can also use Aruna Send from the web or from the Aruna Yahoo widget on your desktop. Whichever way you choose, you can send files for free.
