We recently launched a feature to our home page for you to quickly send files in other languages.

In the past, if you wanted to send a file to someone in France (for example), you could do it but the email notification they got was in English.  Now we change that, now you can choose the language that the notification email is sent in.  For our example above, the file is being sent to someone in France that you know doesn’t speak English, so you just select French and they will be notified in their native French language, that you sent them a file.

Send large files in the language of your choice

Just goto GoAruna.com, fill the form to send a file as usual and change the language here. The email your recipient gets will be in the language you chose.

The languages for the new file sending in local languages are:

We are also working to translate the whole GoAruna web interface into many languages for you.  We will post more on this larger translation effort as soon as news is available.  In the meantime…

Happy file sending in 14 languages!

We recently released a new version of our Windows desktop file manager app and several users were reporting installation problems.

Today we have released a new version 0.1.2 which should resolve these installation issues.

This release is recommended to all users of our GoAruna for Windows desktop app.

If anyone is still having problems installing this version, please let us know in our desktop app feedback forum.

Today we have released Archivos GoAruna which now allows our Spanish speaking friends to enjoy GoAruna in their native language on their Android devices.

Our Spanish version is v0.6.2 and is available in the Android Market immediately.  To manage your Android files in Spanish with GoAruna, just set your main phone language in Android to Spanish and then open up the GoAruna App.  It will be in Spanish automatically already for you.

A new version for GoAruna Files for iPhone / iTouch has been released to the Apple iTunes store recently.

If you do not have GoAruna Files for iPhone, it is the best way to store all of your files in the cloud and access, share and manage from the web, destktop and mobile smartphones.  We also have a great Android version to manage and access all your files on your Android phone.

Last week’s Go Aruna Files application for Android introduced a bug that was force quitting the app on login for Android versions 1.5 and below.

We have found and fixed the bug and now GoAruna files is working again on v1.5 and below.

If you have experienced this problem please goto the Android marketplace and download GoAruna Files version v0.5.24.

If you have an android version greater than 1.5 and everything is working fine, it is not critical you upgrade to this version (but it also will not hurt anything)

Aruna Send for firefox is a browser plugin or widget to help you send large files easily and quickly.  We have updated and Version 0.7.1  is now available from the mozilla add-ons website:

The for non-geeks, the main feature is compatibility with the latest versions of Firefox.

While GoAruna Files already had the capability to select multiple files and perform upload and downloads from your Android handset, we have improved this functionality even more.

- Now easier to access this functionality from the menu
- More operations have been added to multiple file functionality.  Move, copy, delete etc. are now possible for multiple files at the same time.
- Generally easier to use
- Improved multiple file operation status screen

This release also has:

- The back button now takes you up one directory level for easier navigation through your GoAruna storage or local phone files
- Bug fixed – occasional error when renaming, copy or moving local files

It is recommended that everyone upgrade to the new version (v0.5.23).  It is available in the Android Marketplace on your phone under Applications > Productivity > GoAruna Files.

Today we have released an updated version of our file sending plugin for the firefox web browser.

GoAruna plugin for Firefox allows you to quickly upload and send a file to anyone with an email address.

This plugin has been in use since 2007 and we will continue to update it going forward to make your file sending experience the best we can.

Here are the new features:

Free File Storage – My Files Tab

Yes, free storage that doesn’t expire (as long as you continue to use the service, you must log in every six months to keep your account active). Upload and store your files and and organize them within folders.

Sent Files History

Now you can see the history of the files you have sent to people through Aruna Send. Easily re-send files that were sent before (assuming they are within their expiry)

Extended Aruna Send file expiry

Logged in users sent files now have a 14 day expiry period (instead of 7 days for the free version). In addition there is a new “Copy to Storage” feature where you can copy any of your sent files over to your file storage area. This means you can keep those files and re-send them as many times as you wish.

Increased Aruna Send File sizes – Now send files up to 150 MB

Sharing

You can also easily share files that are in your online storage with the provided links to easily post on the web, forums etc.

Open ID

To use the new features of Aruna Send you must have an Open ID. Open ID will let you log into many websites with one ID.

More robust back end and storage infrastructure – We will write more about this later
